Sherpa Digital Media, maker of the Sherpa Stream video platform, needed ultra‑HD (and future 8K) displays and more performant on‑premises/hybrid infrastructure to create immersive AR, VR and 360° video for studios and enterprises. Cloud-only delivery was causing slow processing times and degraded quality, so Sherpa engaged Dell EMC—using Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 4K Monitors with PremierColor (UP3216Q), Dell Precision 7910 workstations and Dell EMC PowerEdge servers—to meet demanding resolution, performance and security requirements.

Dell EMC helped design and supply a turnkey appliance (including OEM services and logistics) that delivers real‑time performance and industry‑leading displays; videos render approximately 10× faster on Dell’s on‑premises GPU grid versus traditional CPU‑based cloud solutions, and a PowerEdge 7910 with Grid technology can replace four workstations. The result: more accurate, true‑to‑life color and smoother refresh for seamless VR/360 stitching, faster efficiency, stronger security, and accelerated innovation and competitiveness for Sherpa and its customers.
