RC Willey, an 85‑year‑old home‑furnishings retailer with 11 stores across four states, needed to modernize IT so store associates could access customer, inventory and transaction data instantly and preserve its tradition of personalized, omnichannel service. Dell EMC deployed two VMAX 450FX All Flash arrays (150TB production, 100TB DR) plus Dell EMC Data Protection Suite for VMware and Data Domain DD6300 appliances, delivering six‑nines availability and 10x faster response (.4–.5ms vs 4–5ms). The upgrade cut a key general‑ledger process from 30 minutes to about 3, enabled VM provisioning in ~90 seconds, achieved roughly 2:1 storage efficiency, and dramatically reduced space, power and cooling costs—freeing RC Willey’s IT team for higher‑priority work.
