Pulsant, a UK colocation and cloud-services provider, needed to expand its Microsoft-based offerings to meet customer demand for hybrid cloud. To move quickly to market with a preconfigured, Microsoft-integrated solution, Pulsant turned to Dell EMC and its Dell EMC Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft (DHCS).

Dell EMC supplied DHCS appliances for a proof of concept and then for production in Reading and Edinburgh, cutting hybrid-cloud deployment time by about 66% and reducing staff overhead. The DHCS helped Pulsant support another 200 users, double internal workforce capacity, and open new big-data and IoT use cases; customers also save roughly 60% in licensing costs. Pulsant expects the new hybrid-cloud model to generate £1 million–£1.5 million in revenue, and credited Dell EMC’s engineering support with rapid issue resolution (system restored in about 2.5 hours).
