National Drilling Company, a major Middle East drilling contractor operating 14 offshore and 28 onshore rigs, faced stretched, end-of-life infrastructure and needed greater scalability, agility, and a robust disaster-recovery strategy. To address these challenges, NDC selected Dell EMC and its VNX unified storage platform along with protection suites to support core applications like SAP, Microsoft SQL Server, and SharePoint.
Dell EMC implemented VNX unified storage with the Remote Protection Suite and Local Protection Suite (including RecoverPoint, MirrorView and SnapView) and migrated 100% of SAP services to a virtualized environment. The solution enabled synchronous remote replication to a relocated DR site, improved SAP and SQL Server performance by 10%, and delivered continuous data protection and predictable capacity planning for NDC.
