A Dell EMC Case Study
Leading Global Credit Card Processor wanted to establish leadership in payment security by implementing an encryption and tokenization solution to randomize card numbers, reduce fraud exposure, and lower merchants’ PCI compliance costs. Lacking a formal PMO and an accurate revenue-forecast model for a global rollout, the customer engaged Dell EMC (EMC Consulting) — with RSA partnership — to design and commercialize a credit card tokenization security platform and associated go-to-market program.
Dell EMC delivered an end-to-end program: technical feasibility testing (ensuring ≤200 ms added latency), an 18‑month pilot, a formal PMO and rollout tracks, merchant onboarding and billing integration, and sales/marketing enablement plus a revenue-forecast database. The solution launched on time and under budget, signed up 125,000 terminals with a first‑year revenue target of about $14 million, helped reduce fraud exposure and PCI risk, and led the customer to adopt EMC’s PMO tools enterprise-wide while positioning the offering to become an industry standard.
