LAit S.p.A., which designs and operates Regione Lazio’s public IT services, needed to give more than 170 pharmacies secure, low‑cost remote access to the Recup outpatient booking system while enabling end‑user self service and protecting sensitive health data. To meet this challenge LAit selected Dell EMC, deploying two‑factor authentication together with an SSL VPN to avoid expensive dedicated links.

Dell EMC implemented RSA SecurID two‑factor authentication and an SSL VPN solution so pharmacies could use existing Internet connections to access the booking service securely; this unified password and authentication management and consolidated logs for compliance. The deployment allowed secure remote access to the Recup system, expanded service reach without extra connectivity costs, and reduced booking‑service management costs by 70%.
