Israel Electric Corporation, the State of Israel’s national power utility, needed fail-proof disaster recovery across its two critical data centers in Haifa and Tel Aviv to protect diverse servers, operating systems and mission‑critical applications under tight budgets and real‑world threat conditions. Dell EMC partnered with IEC, leveraging the existing VMware virtualization platform together with VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager and Dell EMC Symmetrix storage with SRDF/TimeFinder replication to address these constraints.

Dell EMC designed and implemented a SRDF‑backed Symmetrix replication architecture integrated with VMware vCenter SRM and Dell EMC professional services to automate failover, enable non‑disruptive testing, and eliminate hardware dependence. The PoC reloaded key applications such as the SAP Portal and MQ Broker with zero impact on production, nearly 150 data‑center staff received training, and IEC gained automated disaster‑recovery testing, faster recovery times, and greater confidence in protecting national infrastructure.
