Huntington National Bank engaged Dell EMC Global Services to help integrate the recent Sky Financial Group acquisition and address storage and availability challenges across its expanded IT environment. Facing rapid growth (about 223 TB of primary storage and ~25% annual growth), HNB sought Dell EMC’s ITIL Process Transformation assessments and storage solutions (including VNXe and VMware) to standardize capacity and availability practices and ensure scalable, reliable access to data.

Dell EMC implemented a nine-week ITSM/ITIL assessment and a customized roadmap that established formal capacity and availability processes, dashboards, a capacity management database, and automation tools (StorageScope, Ionix ControlCenter) plus defined roles and KPIs. The work doubled information access speed, improved storage utilization by up to 75%, enabled provisioning and VM creation in under a minute, cut server/storage management time by ~80%, and produced expected savings of $276,000 in year one and $2.2 million over three years—delivering payback within one year with Dell EMC’s guidance.
