Heritage Foods Limited - Customer Case Study

Heritage Foods Limited, a fast-growing food and grocery retailer in southern India, faced severe IT limitations as it expanded from 70 to 110 stores: its IBM P520/V3700 infrastructure could not meet growing IOPS demands (often needing up to 15,000 IOPS), SAP performance suffered, POS-to-SAP integration was slow, backups were manual and time‑consuming, and there was no reliable disaster‑recovery/continuity plan. To address these challenges, Heritage selected Dell EMC and its VSPEX Proven Infrastructure to modernize and consolidate the environment.

Dell EMC deployed a VSPEX solution including VNX5200 with FAST Cache/FAST VP, Avamar deduplication backup, RecoverPoint replication, VMware virtualization and Cisco UCS, delivering measurable gains: SAP performance improved by about 75%, report generation fell from 10 hours to under 2 hours, storage IOPS capability rose toward 15,000, backups were reduced from hours to minutes with 50x data reduction, and TCO/OpEx and data‑center footprint were significantly lowered—while RecoverPoint began delivering near‑zero RPO and much faster RTO for mission‑critical databases.
