Case Study: Softlogic Holdings achieves centralized management and enhanced application performance with Dell EMC VSPEX Converged Infrastructure

A Dell EMC Case Study

Preview of the Softlogic Holdings Case Study

Global business deploys converged infrastructure for future growth and development

Softlogic Holdings PLC, a Sri Lankan conglomerate operating across retail, ICT, hospitality, insurance, finance and automotive, faced unsustainable, siloed IT—each strategic business unit ran its own applications and infrastructure—creating performance, security and management challenges and a need to support a planned Oracle ERP rollout. Seeking a converged infrastructure to deliver reliability, scalability and streamlined operations, Softlogic engaged Dell EMC and deployed an EMC VSPEX Converged Infrastructure solution.

Dell EMC implemented a VSPEX architecture integrating Cisco UCS, VMware vSphere, EMC VNX (VNX5400) unified storage and EMC Data Domain (DD2500), centralizing IT for six SBUs and supporting Oracle ERP. The solution delivered centralized management, tighter security, faster application performance, and enabled IT to operate as a profit center; Data Domain consolidated backups (up to 13.4 TB/hour throughput) and VSPEX scales to petabyte-class capacity, reducing maintenance overhead and improving availability and responsiveness across the group.
