Envision Pharmaceutical Services (EnvisionRxOptions), a pharmacy benefit manager with about 800 employees, experienced explosive sales growth (288% over three years) that outstripped the IOPS and scalability of its existing infrastructure and threatened performance for virtualized Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint, Exchange and customer‑facing systems. Dell EMC deployed VSPEX with EMC VNX storage, Avamar deduplicated backup, RecoverPoint replication, VMware vSphere/SRM and Cisco UCS blades to create a high‑performance, scalable virtual SAN and active DR environment. The solution cut remote office backup windows from 48 hours once a week to roughly 30 minutes nightly (a few minutes daily for some offices), enabled restores to within 30 seconds of an incident (RPO as low as 30 seconds), and scaled to support ongoing application growth—improving recovery, availability and the company’s competitive position.
