Case Study: PBI/Gordon achieves improved disaster recovery and faster server provisioning with Dell EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure

A Dell EMC Case Study

Preview of the PBI/Gordon Case Study

EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure provides a path to disaster recovery

PBI/Gordon, a 290-employee manufacturing company, faced a disparate mix of physical servers and direct‑attached storage that was time-consuming to manage and left the company poorly positioned for disaster recovery. They worked with Dell EMC (through EMC Premier Partner Alexander Open Systems) to adopt Dell EMC’s VSPEX Proven Infrastructure, leveraging EMC VNX unified storage, EMC Data Domain for deduplicated backup, VMware vSphere and Cisco UCS blades.

Dell EMC’s VSPEX solution was deployed at the primary site to protect about 5 TB of file and mail data, virtualize key servers and support plans to virtualize roughly 75% of the environment. Implemented in about three weeks with AOS, the solution delivered offsite replication via two Data Domain systems, dramatically improved DR capabilities, reduced server build time from several days to hours, and simplified management while providing a scalable platform for future growth.
