A Dell EMC Case Study

Preview of the Qatar Islamic Bank Case Study

EMC solutions help boost customer service levels

Qatar Islamic Bank, a leading Islamic bank in Qatar, faced fragmented legacy storage (five different arrays) that made backups slow and data unavailable during routines, hurting customer service and driving high maintenance costs. To address this, the bank engaged Dell EMC and deployed a consolidated storage and backup architecture using Dell EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON, Celerra, SRDF, PowerPath, NetWorker, Disk Library and Scalar systems plus Dell EMC Global Services for staged migration and ongoing support.

Dell EMC implemented a staged migration to a centralized SAN/NAS and DR environment with 24x7 hands-on services, secure remote monitoring, and resident engineers; the result was dramatic: daily transaction batching shrank from over 1.5 hours to 10 minutes, approximately 11 TB of data is now standardized and instantly accessible, maintenance and risk were reduced, and the solution is scalable to meet an expected 25 TB need—delivering improved availability, lower costs, and better customer service.
