EMC provides optimal backup and recovery solutions

Rosgosstrakh, Russia’s largest insurance company, needed a centralized backup and recovery strategy to protect massive volumes of online data, meet regulatory tape-retention requirements, and back up thousands of branch offices over existing LAN/WAN links. Dell EMC was engaged to address these challenges using EMC NetWorker for centralized backup and EMC Avamar for branch-level deduplicated backups.

Dell EMC deployed NetWorker at the central site to provide unified backup-to-disk-and-tape management and Avamar at regional offices to eliminate redundant data before transfer. The combined solution delivered highly reliable, cost-effective recovery, enabled multi-year tape retention for compliance, and reduced data transfer from regional offices by 99 percent—allowing full daily backups over existing WAN/LAN and rapid restoration of regional databases.
