Riverside Health System, a regional healthcare provider with more than 7,000 employees and 132 locations, faced time‑consuming desktop updates, clinicians losing time logging into Windows at each patient room, and inadequate backup and disaster‑recovery processes. To solve these challenges, Riverside partnered with Dell EMC to deploy an EMC Proven Infrastructure (VSPEX) virtual desktop infrastructure and data‑protection stack using EMC VNX unified storage, Citrix XenDesktop, Cisco UCS, VMware vSphere, and Dell EMC NetWorker and RecoverPoint.

Dell EMC’s solution delivered an integrated VDI supporting 80 virtual desktops in the new hospital and a disaster‑recovery design replicating roughly 360 virtual machines to a DR site with RecoverPoint and vCenter SRM. The deployment let clinicians resume roaming sessions in seconds, enabled IT to update one central image instead of thousands of endpoints, improved backup performance, and provided robust protection for critical clinical applications and data—delivering clear operational and administrative ROI for Riverside.
