EMC Consulting enables smooth Microsoft SharePoint upgrade

ING Belgium, a major retail and private bank with almost 800 branches and extensive online channels, faced an outdated content management system that could not meet its direct-banking and web content needs. Seeking a more standard, maintainable platform and the ability to modernize sites and integrate internet banking (targeting support for up to 100 million page views a year), ING engaged Dell EMC (EMC Consulting) to upgrade its Microsoft SharePoint environment from 2007 to SharePoint 2010.

Dell EMC delivered application architecture, design, development and an EMC Migration Strategy to implement SharePoint 2010 with standardized configurations, automated monitoring and scalable performance. The upgrade went live on 15 December 2011 with no disruption to customers; ING now updates pages more easily, operates with fewer people but higher quality, and benefits from proven best practices, functional configuration, reliable monitoring and improved scalability courtesy of Dell EMC.
