Business Services Firm Provides Fast, Global Access to HR Information

UNIPRO, a Geneva-based business process outsourcing firm that manages roughly 35,000 employee files for local HR departments, needed to digitize sensitive HR documents and provide secure, global access via Oracle Peoplesoft self-service portals while enforcing strict rights management. To meet this challenge, UNIPRO selected Dell EMC’s Captiva intelligent capture platform—including Captiva InputAccel, eInput, and Captiva Dispatcher—to enable distributed capture, automated classification, OCR indexing, and secure routing to customer archives.

Dell EMC and implementation partner Serial deployed the Captiva solution in late 2009, training scan operators in about an hour and administrators in three days; Kodak scanners handle at least 8,000 pages/day, with initial uploads around 20,000 pages per customer per year and ongoing daily volumes of 2,000–5,000 documents per customer. The Dell EMC implementation converted paper-heavy processes into a globally accessible digital system, improved retrieval speed and employee satisfaction, strengthened security and risk management, reduced paper use, and delivered an expected ROI within two years.
