Bit9 + Carbon Black, a rapidly growing network‑security firm that expanded from about 50 to 300 employees while tripling its customer base, faced exponential data growth that overwhelmed its legacy storage and exposed gaps in business continuity. After evaluating multiple vendors, the company selected Dell EMC solutions—deploying Dell EMC VNX unified storage (with the FAST Suite and flash tiers) and Dell EMC CloudArray—to deliver the performance, scalability, and off‑site protection it needed.

Dell EMC implemented VNX with flash and high‑capacity drives, FAST Cache/FAST VP, and integrated Veeam backups written to CloudArray and replicated to multiple cloud providers (including Google). The results were dramatic: disk performance improved 12–15×, average latency dropped to single digits from 70–80 ms, capacity managed per IT staff rose from 30 TB to 120 TB, and about 30 TB is protected in the cloud.
