A Dell EMC Case Study
Alexander Open Systems (AOS), a Midwest technology solutions provider, faced growing competition from low‑cost cloud storage entrants and needed to retain customers and expand revenue quickly. After acquiring a regional hosting provider, AOS discovered underutilized EMC Atmos systems and turned to Dell EMC’s Atmos cloud storage platform to build a differentiated, multi‑tenant cloud services offering.
Dell EMC delivered a rapid, out‑of‑the‑box solution—leveraging Atmos features (global namespace, active/active architecture, metadata policies) and integrated ISV solutions—allowing AOS to be in production in 14 days. Using Dell EMC Atmos and its ISV ecosystem, AOS launched pay‑per‑gig storage and disaster recovery services with tenant metering for accurate chargeback, significantly improving utilization, scaling to petabyte capacity, eliminating downtime, and accelerating profitability.
