Unifying Finance and Learning at Marsh & McLennan

Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC), a global professional services firm with about 65,000 employees, needed to scale finance learning for roughly 2,300 finance professionals because existing high-quality content was expensive and reached only a few people. To address this gap, MMC partnered with Degreed to create and launch the MMC Finance Academy.

Degreed centralized paid and free learning resources into a single platform, empowered business units to own content, and rolled the Finance Academy out over about 18 months — making relevant resources discoverable and increasing peer recommendations and engagement across the finance community. As a result, MMC now provides consistent learning to its finance team, has a growing culture of knowledge-sharing, and can begin measuring skills to better target content investments and tie learning to business outcomes.
