How Airbnb Improved Leadership and Data Fluency Skills to Launch Into Hypergrowth

Airbnb, the global travel platform with roughly 4,500 employees, needed to sustain skills during rapid hypergrowth—hiring aggressively, promoting 700+ new managers, and building company-wide data fluency while their LMS usage sat at about 8%. To modernize learning and meet employees where they learn, Airbnb partnered with Degreed and adopted its platform (including Pathways, Groups, Pages & Plans) as the front end of a new, flexible learning ecosystem.

Degreed delivered an integrated learning solution—powering the Amplify manager-development program and Data University Pathways—that emphasized on-the-go, personalized learning. The results were measurable: 9x as many active users on Degreed versus the prior LMS, over 112,000 learning objects viewed, 1,000 employees completing 6,000 Data University class sessions, a 9.1 NPS for leadership development, and about $0.50 saved per user per year.
