Third Coast Converts from AutoStar to IDMS for Increased Flexibility

Third Coast Auto Group, which operates four buy-here, pay-here dealerships in Austin, Round Rock, New Braunfels, and Kyle, needed greater efficiency and flexibility than their legacy AutoStar DMS could provide. To address reporting and customization limitations, Third Coast made the switch in late 2018 to DealerSocket’s IDMS, a move the general manager compared to “open-heart surgery” for a dealership given the complexity of DMS transitions.

DealerSocket delivered IDMS with full data migration and a robust onboarding program (virtual training, online classes, and tutorials), plus a customizable dashboard, advanced reporting and automation, and a mobile app. As a result, Third Coast gained more control over reporting and operations, kept collections staff working remotely during COVID-19, maintained lot and in-store productivity when computers were down, and experienced a smoother ramp-up for critical periods like tax season.
