A Davey Case Study
Amtrak sought to establish a trackside wireless broadband network along the Northeast Corridor to provide high-speed connectivity for passenger trains. The project required securing environmental approvals to meet strict federal regulations. Amtrak engaged Davey Resource Group (DRG), a division of Davey Tree, for environmental consulting and delineation services to navigate these requirements efficiently.
Davey Resource Group performed comprehensive wetland delineations for 22 sites and prepared all necessary Categorical Exclusion documentation to comply with NEPA and other federal regulations. Their approach successfully kept the project on schedule, earning commendation from Amtrak. The solution implemented by DRG allowed the trackside network to be successfully constructed and operational, providing a private broadband connection for trains traveling at high speeds along an 18-mile corridor.
