Pixum, an online photo-services brand, partnered with DataXu to test whether digital video advertising would build brand awareness and drive measurable customer acquisition across different geographic regions. The campaign aimed to increase branded searches, lower cost-per-conversion, and generate new customers, but Pixum needed to know if video was the right fit in every market.

DataXu used Market Pulse testing, comprehensive effectiveness analysis and campaign modeling with different investment “pulse” schedules across three regions, tracking page views, branded searches, software downloads and sales. The video campaigns increased branded search volume and overall clicks, delivered positive ROI, showed similar growth in Regions 1 and 2, produced faster organic click growth in Region 1 than paid, and allowed DataXu to determine the optimal ad investment for each test region.
