HIPAA-Compliant Secure Information Exchange for Salesforce

Salesforce needed a way for CRM users to exchange sensitive information such as personally identifiable information and protected health information through its email functionality while staying aligned with HIPAA privacy and security requirements. The case study focuses on secure information exchange for Salesforce users, using DataMotion SecureMail.

DataMotion SecureMail was integrated with Salesforce through the Salesforce UI or a Salesforce SDK application, with support from the DataMotion SecureMail Gateway and DataMotion Web Services APIs. The setup enabled encrypted message delivery through TLS when available, or secure retrieval through the DataMotion SecureMail web portal when it was not, and it also supported content filtering, data loss protection, and de-identification.
