DHL, a global express delivery company, faced the challenge of wasted time and resources from failed "not at home" deliveries. To solve this, they created their ServicePoint network, which required a reliable barcode reader to process customer package pickups and returns. The solution from Datalogic allowed DHL ServicePoint staff to accurately scan parcels, triggering instant customer notifications. The Heron readers provided a high first-pass read rate and worked perfectly with no failures. This increased traceability remarkably and allowed DHL to successfully expand its ServicePoint network, with 370 locations opening within one year and placing 75% of Dutch households within four kilometers of a pickup point.
