British American Tobacco - Customer Case Study

British American Tobacco (BAT) Poland was selected as the company’s strategic production hub for Europe, expanding its SKUs from 20 to 200 (with projections to 1,000). Facing a patchwork of SAP, Kanban and paper-based processes that could not handle the surge in production and internal logistics complexity, BAT turned to Dassault Systemes (via the Apriso FlexNet solution) to modernize materials and warehouse management.

Dassault Systemes implemented FlexNet in phases across finished goods, wrapping materials, leaf and primary manufacturing warehouses, integrating tightly with SAP and replacing paper pick tickets with wireless terminals. The result was paperless picking, full traceability from master case to lot/batch, improved integrity control, faster stock checks, automated order picking and detailed consumption/waste reporting—enabling BAT Poland to consolidate production, handle far more SKUs and eliminate manual paperwork.
