A Danfoss Case Study
Tylö AB, a global leader in sauna, shower and steam-room environments, needed a compact, low-noise, energy-efficient HVAC solution for a new 2,000 m² SPA centre with strict requirements for temperature accuracy, humidity control, zoning, CO₂ control, and easy serviceability. To meet these demands, the project used Danfoss compressor technology as part of IV Produkt’s EcoCooler air handling unit with integrated speed-controlled DX cooling.
Danfoss helped enable a solution built around a VTZ inverter compressor and matching CD 302 frequency converter, paired with a fixed-speed MTZ compressor, delivering stepless cooling from 6.8 to 52.3 kW and a COP of 5.4 in design conditions. The result was a quieter, more precise system that avoided rooftop installations, reduced installation costs by 15–40% and operating costs by 15–35%, and cut energy use by about 3,500 kWh per year in Gothenburg, with even greater savings expected in warmer locations such as Lyon.
