TDR relies on efficient Danfoss APP pumps for profitability at ZLD wastewater treatment facility

Beijing Tiandiren Environ-Tech Company Limited (TDR) needed an efficient way to build and operate a 12,000 m³/day zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment facility for a bio-pharmaceutical customer in Xin Jiang Province. Faced with strict Chinese ZLD regulations, high salinity wastewater, and the need to keep operating costs low over a 10-year BOT contract, TDR turned to Danfoss high-pressure APP pumps for the project.

Danfoss supplied a multi-stage RO pumping solution using APP 43, APP 30, and APP 26 pumps across three treatment stages, delivering design pressures of 50 and 80 bars depending on the train. The system was designed for energy efficiency and reliability, with reported 90% efficiency at all operation points and 11 years without maintenance on similar equipment. The result was a cost-effective ZLD plant that helped TDR improve profitability while meeting the end user’s wastewater treatment requirements.
