A Danfoss Case Study
The customer, Systemair, faced significant challenges in designing and installing ventilation systems for Copenhagen's new Cityringen metro line due to extremely limited space in the stations and the harsh underground environment. To meet the project's demanding requirements for reliability and performance, Systemair partnered with vendor Danfoss and utilized their VLT® HVAC Drive FC 102 variable speed drives.
Danfoss provided a solution with their compact, high-performance FC 102 drives, which featured back channel cooling to efficiently manage heat. This removed 90% of the heat from the electrical control panels, eliminating the need for additional air conditioning systems and reducing installation and operating costs for the customer. The drives' reliability, ease of use, and ability to withstand the project's tight spaces and redundancy requirements were key to the successful implementation of both the temporary and permanent emergency ventilation systems.
