Case Study: Logset achieves higher power and lower emissions with Danfoss Editron

A Danfoss Case Study

Preview of the Logset Case Study

Steadfast commitment to sustainable forestry

Logset, a Finnish forest machine manufacturer, needed a way to boost the output of its largest harvester without increasing engine size, damaging the terrain, or harming harvested trees. To meet the demand for more power in tough forestry conditions, Logset partnered with Danfoss Editron and its EDITRON electrification technology.

Danfoss Editron helped develop the Logset 12H GTE Hybrid Harvester, a compact parallel hybrid machine that combines an electric motor/generator, supercapacitor, inverter, and a 7.4-liter diesel engine. The solution delivered up to 380 kW (510 hp) and 2,000 Nm of torque, while improving working efficiency by 27%, reducing fuel consumption by 20 to 30%, cutting CO2 and small particle emissions by 25%, and increasing power by 72% with 54% more torque.
