Finnish sawmill doubles humidification capacity with the same Danfoss PAH pump - and minimal investment

FreshWind, a Finnish provider of high-pressure humidification systems, needed to double the capacity of a sawmill’s existing moisture-control setup after the customer added a new specialty drying kiln. The challenge was to increase output cost efficiently without compromising the reliability that sawmills depend on, using Danfoss pump technology already proven in the original installation.

Danfoss and FreshWind solved the problem by expanding the existing system with new piping, valves, pressure sensors, and a variable frequency drive while keeping the same Danfoss PAH 10 pump. This approach quickly doubled humidification capacity with minimal investment, and the upgraded system has run with practically no maintenance since installation, delivering strong reliability and ROI.
