Faster, quieter, more energy efficient: Smooth elevators use VLT Lift Drive

IBA, an elevator modernization company, faced the challenge of upgrading an aging and problematic hydraulic elevator in a senior residence. The elevator was unstable, noisy, and frequently stopped due to overheating. In cooperation with Danfoss, IBA modernized the system using a VLT® Lift Drive LD 302 frequency converter alongside a new hydraulic aggregate.

The solution implemented by Danfoss provided a faster, more reliable, and significantly quieter ride by eliminating the need for forced ventilation. The retrofit resulted in an elevator that is 58% more energy efficient, improving its energy rating by one full class and providing superior comfort for the residents.
