Distributed Energy Solutions, a world-leading wireless technology company operating multiple data centers at its San Diego campus, needed to upgrade its cooling infrastructure to support critical backup chilled water services. The company wanted higher energy efficiency and lower total cost of ownership, and turned to Danfoss for help with a solution built around Danfoss Turbocor® compressors.

Danfoss helped enable the development of a custom 1,400-ton ArcticCool chiller using seven Danfoss Turbocor™ oil-free compressors, delivering compact, highly efficient cooling with redundancy and low maintenance. The installed system cut compressor energy costs by more than 30% annually and has operated at up to 0.4 kW per ton, reducing operating costs and the company’s carbon footprint; the success led the customer to سفارش two additional 1,400-ton chillers from Danfoss-supported ArcticCool.
