A Danfoss Case Study
Canaragua needed to expand water production for Puerto de Mogán in Gran Canaria by 1,800 m3 per day, but the new seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant had to fit into a very tight urban space in the historic town center. Working with Danfoss, the company needed a highly compact, energy-efficient solution that could meet the municipality’s demand while keeping the plant footprint as small as possible.
Danfoss supplied the APP 38 high-pressure pumps and iSave 50 ERDs, enabling a modular containerized design split into two 12-foot containers. The solution delivered 1,800 m3 of desalinated water per day with no maintenance issues reported since installation, and achieved an output capacity-to-container-space ratio of 12.48 m3 per day per m3 of container space, underscoring the plant’s exceptional compactness.
