Vidyard, a leading online video platform, faced unreliable Selenium end-to-end tests that ran only once per night and created a QA bottleneck—bugs could remain in production for a full day and testing knowledge was siloed in a small QA team. To shift testing earlier and give engineers confidence to ship, Vidyard adopted Cypress for browser E2E testing.

Vidyard implemented Cypress (and later Cypress Cloud) via a focused POC and CI integration, then scaled from nightly runs to 20 → 300 → 4,000+ tests per day, executing 106,000+ tests every 30 days with ~20,000 lines of test code. Cypress’s features and Cloud parallelization cut test run times by 75% and save about 11 days of run time per month, increased developer ownership of tests, reduced flakiness, and accelerated releases with higher confidence.
