Medibank, Australia’s second largest integrated national healthcare company serving more than 3.7 million members, wanted to strengthen its commitment to diversity and inclusion by increasing the number of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people in its contingent workforce. Working with CXC Global, its contingent workforce management and Managed Services Provider, Medibank set out to build a more inclusive sourcing strategy aligned to its Reconciliation Action Plan.
CXC Global helped design and deploy an Indigenous-owned recruitment panel by reviewing Medibank’s RAP, researching and vetting suitable Indigenous suppliers, and running an Indigenous-specific RFI to confirm capability for corporate roles. The program delivered a significant number of new contractors through the panel, supported better employment outcomes, and helped Medibank advance its RAP goals, with an average cost saving of 4% and plans to expand similar practices into accessibility and permanent hiring.
