The Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) is a not-for-profit trade group representing 98% of banks in Wisconsin that relies on nearly 100 annual education programs and member dues for revenue. Manual, labor-intensive registration and data processes tied up staff time and—when the pandemic forced a rapid shift to virtual events—threatened a significant drop in registrations and revenue.
WBA adopted Cvent Event Management, the Cvent Attendee Hub and a HubSpot integration to automate registration, payments, CRM syncing and email marketing, freeing the equivalent of a full-time staff member. Virtual events nearly doubled attendance (from ~250 to 470, then to 720), kept exhibitor participation strong (39 then 59 exhibitors), and delivered measurable financial gains: education attendance +35% YoY, education net profit +15% in 2020, a Management Conference program profit +5% vs 2019 and a +20% convention profit YoY—while enabling a scalable hybrid strategy going forward.
