A Cvent Case Study
Olympus Corporation of the Americas, a maker of precision medical, imaging, and surgical products, faced fragmented meeting processes across ~3,900 employees and an annual meeting spend of about $24M. Without a centralized meetings function, planners relied on third parties and manual workflows, producing excessive back‑and‑forth, duplicated sourcing, and rising costs.
Olympus launched a Strategic Meetings Management Program and a Central Purchasing category, standardizing policies and workflows and implementing Cvent Event Management and the Cvent Supplier Network for centralized sourcing, templates, and integrated registration. The program delivered major efficiencies and transparency — consolidating contracts, saving $4.4M (nearly $4M in the first six months), reclaiming roughly 2,200 hours, and streamlining planning across the organization.
