The Westin Tampa Bay faced a rapid reopening challenge after 2020 lockdowns: planners were sourcing large events again but site visits were scarce, and the hotel needed a way to prove room layouts and outdoor capacity while responding quickly to a surge in RFPs as Tampa prepared to host major events like the Super Bowl. The hotel adopted Cvent’s suite—especially Event Diagramming—trained its sales team, and joined Cvent Community to align with planner needs. The results: a 100% RFP response rate, 344 RFPs sourced in 2021, 366 events created in diagramming with a 50% bid rate, and participation in millions of dollars of RFP opportunities through the Cvent Supplier Network, allowing the property to win business and safely host large events.
