The Westin Tampa Bay faced a rapid reopening challenge after 2020 lockdowns: planners were sourcing large events again but site visits were scarce, and the hotel needed a way to prove room layouts and outdoor capacity while responding quickly to a surge in RFPs as Tampa prepared to host major events like the Super Bowl. Clear, visual communication and speed became critical to win business in a changed meetings landscape.
The hotel adopted Cvent’s suite—especially Event Diagramming—trained its sales team, and joined Cvent Community to align with planner needs. The results: a 100% RFP response rate, 344 RFPs sourced in 2021, 366 events created in diagramming with a 50% bid rate, and participation in millions of dollars of RFP opportunities through the Cvent Supplier Network, allowing the property to win business and safely host large events.
