Case Study: AIG, the global insurance company, reduces meeting costs and centralizes event management with Cvent's Strategic Meetings Management solution

A Cvent Case Study

Preview of the AIG Case Study

How AIG is optimizing meetings management to reduce costs and scale efficiencies

AIG, a global finance and insurance company with more than 46,000 employees across 70+ countries, struggled with fragmented meeting processes, systems, and data that made it hard to control costs, mitigate risk, and demonstrate event ROI. In 2016 AIG partnered with Cvent to build a Strategic Meetings Management Program (SMMP) to centralize meeting operations, standardize policy, and create disciplined, enterprise-wide workflows.

AIG deployed Cvent solutions — including the Meeting Request Form, Budget Module, Access Portal, and the Cvent Supplier Network — to create a single source of truth, automate approvals and procurement, and standardize venue sourcing. The result: improved compliance and reporting, real-time spend visibility, stronger vendor negotiation and budget controls, measurable cost savings, and the agility to quickly pivot during crises while continuously optimizing the program.
