Fidelity Information Services (FIS), a global financial services technology company, faced a sudden disruption to its events program when the COVID-19 pandemic made in-person conferences impossible—threatening a vital sales pipeline built around multiple annual client conferences, trade shows, and sales kickoffs. With just eight weeks to pivot, the events team needed a virtual solution that would preserve engagement and revenue opportunities.
FIS moved its conferences onto Cvent’s platform, retooled content into half-day and on-demand formats, integrated registration, session tracking and marketing automation, and added virtual expo halls, networking lounges and wellness spaces. The virtual events tripled expected attendance (over 3,000 attendees, a 200% increase), influenced $509M in total TCV across 682 opportunities (a 49% increase in deals influenced), and delivered higher new- and existing-deal creation compared with the prior in-person events.
