A Cvent Case Study
The Dublin Convention Bureau (DCB) is the city's business tourism organisation that helps meeting planners with free venue finding, site inspections and familiarisation trips, and delivers international meetings to Dublin’s private-sector operators. Faced with relatively low international awareness and difficulty convincing planners to consider Dublin—especially for locally owned hotels outside global brands—the bureau needed new channels and a stronger brand strategy to attract higher-quality enquiries from key markets including Great Britain, North America, Belgium, France and Germany.
DCB adopted Cvent (a three‑diamond listing on the Cvent Supplier Network) and used targeted marketing to reach planners in those markets, directing leads to locally owned properties and converting more business. The results were significant: a 77% year‑on‑year increase in unique RFPs, 194% increase in unique RFP value, 73% more total RFPs, 163% more room nights annually and a 53% rise in unique planner organisations—helping establish Dublin as a recognised MICE destination.
