Case Study: National Federation of the Blind achieves accessible, inclusive hybrid conventions with Cvent

A Cvent Case Study

Preview of the National Federation of the Blind Case Study

Creating accessible events for all attendees using Cvent solutions

The National Federation of the Blind (NFB)—which has hosted its annual National Convention for more than 83 years and drew 2,500+ in-person attendees to 200+ sessions in 2023—needed a fast, fully accessible way to move its largest gathering online during the pandemic and then support a hybrid return to in-person events. With only months to transition, the organization required a platform that met strict accessibility standards and worked seamlessly with assistive technologies.

NFB adopted Cvent’s Attendee Hub and Mobile Event App to deliver an inclusive experience—featuring screen-reader compatibility, proper heading structure, image alt text, one-click Zoom viewing, captioning, exhibitor tools, and on-demand reporting. The result: a successful virtual convention and a hybrid 2023 event serving 2,500+ onsite attendees plus remote participants, strong positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors, improved accessibility features, and an ongoing partnership to continue evolving the event experience.
