Best Friends Animal Society is a national nonprofit working to make the U.S. no-kill by 2025; its annual Best Friends National Conference brings together animal welfare professionals for education, networking, and wellbeing-focused programming. For the 25th conference they faced limited breakout space, diverse learning and sensory needs, and tight nonprofit budgets—while needing to streamline registration, onsite operations, and reporting.

They created “free-style learning lounges” with live-streamed, captioned sessions and sensory-friendly amenities, and deployed Cvent solutions (Registration, Abstract Management, Speaker Resource Center, Attendee Hub, OnArrival, LeadCapture) to automate workflows and improve the attendee experience. The result: a record 1,646 registrations, 1,561 app downloads (91% login rate), 1,220 leads captured, faster QR-based check-in, significant staff time savings, and integrated reporting that proved strong engagement and ROI.
