United Rentals needed reliable rental power for an international automotive race in Montreal, where the event required both 50 Hz and 60 Hz electricity for European and North American pit crews, plus dedicated power for communications, corporate hospitality tents, and standby support for the main race control tower. Cummins supplied rental generator sets to meet these mixed-frequency, high-reliability demands.

Cummins recommended six C275D2RE Tier 4 Final 275 kW generators and three C1000D6R Tier 2 1,000 kW generators, with paralleling and transfer-switch configuration for redundancy and performance. Cummins also performed pre-event testing and on-site technical support, and the setup delivered flawless power throughout the race; eight of nine assets were used, the generators ran for 55 hours, and pit crews were able to change tires in two seconds.
