How Vinomofo improved company culture

Vinomofo, a fast‑growing Melbourne-based wine retailer, appointed Michael Ellis as Head of Culture to help the company scale while keeping its people-first values intact. After conducting about 70 time-consuming, biased interviews, the Culture Team needed a faster, more objective way to understand what was driving their culture and employee engagement, so they implemented Culture Amp’s engagement survey.

Culture Amp proved easy to set up and gave Vinomofo actionable, benchmarked people data — their first survey showed engagement over 80% and highlighted corporate social responsibility and recognition as key drivers and improvement areas. Using those insights, Vinomofo increased employee involvement in charity work, introduced Strengths Finder and Language of Appreciation tools, ran workshops and created a “Role and Soul Profile” to personalize recognition, and now runs bi‑annual surveys to measure impact and guide ongoing culture initiatives.
