How Progress improved employee engagement and culture

Progress, a US-based application-development company, expanded rapidly through acquisitions (including Telerik) in 2014–2015, creating a need to integrate multiple teams and cultures. HR identified employee engagement and culture — particularly improving cross-team collaboration — as a top priority and sought a reliable way to measure organizational health.

Progress implemented Culture Amp surveys, running an initial engagement survey in May 2015 and adding pulse checks in 2016 to gather frequent feedback. The program revealed strengths (strong within-team collaboration), pinpointed areas to improve, and informed a new org structure, unified brand and product strategy; Progress now uses a Learn–Act–Repeat cadence to refine programs and strengthen engagement.
