Major League Baseball needed a better way to understand employee sentiment across its 1,400 full-time staff and seasonal workers, especially after a merger and during the pandemic, but had never run a formal engagement survey. MLB turned to Culture Amp and its employee engagement platform to build a data-driven employee listening strategy and replace anecdotal feedback with measurable insight.
Culture Amp helped MLB launch its first survey, achieving an 84% participation rate and more than 5,000 written comments. The results highlighted communication and recognition as key priorities, leading MLB to improve its intranet, introduce peer-to-peer recognition software, and share findings openly with leaders and employees. MLB also used the data to assess its learning platform and add dedicated learning time, creating a stronger culture of feedback and accountability with Culture Amp.
