DigitalOcean, a fast-growing cloud infrastructure company, partnered with Culture Amp to build a people-analytics practice that could keep pace with rapid hiring and scale. Leadership wanted a rigorous way to measure engagement, improve onboarding and communication, and reduce turnover as the company expanded.
They introduced a cadence of full “Tide” surveys every six months, short “Current” check-ins, and three-stage onboarding surveys, plus team-level action plans, a buddy program and clearer town halls/AMAs. Within six months communication scores rose, trust and engagement improved, referrals exceeded 40% of hires and attrition stayed below industry averages — evidence the continuous feedback system was driving measurable people outcomes.
